A few weeks ago we made a joke about putting a Point of Presence on the Moon. While that may not be true, one thing is. We are making huge improvements to our Anycast Network. 

We are currently working to add 88 NEW Points of Presence on Earth. This means No-IP will have an Anycast Network with more than 100 different POPs.

What does this mean for you? Faster, more reliable service. Anycast DNS allows for faster DNS lookup with a more reliable service. If someone is performing a lookup from Manchester on your domain, the lookup for DNS will attempt the closest node which is Manchester. They will then be routed to your server. If, in the unlikely event, the Manchester DNS node is down they will connect to the next closest location, London, then be routed to your server.
