New Article on Hardware Dynamic DNS Clients

From time to time we’re asked about using hardware Dynamic DNS clients built in to some routers. While initially that seems to be a great idea, it can really be troublesome to debug customer problems when they’re using firmware DDNS implementations.

We’ve posted a new article in our Guides and Tips section that fully describes the advantages of the No-IP DUC software. You can click here to read the complete article.

Use No-IP To Keep An Eye On Things At Home While Away

True story: A No-IP employee recently had his house broken into while away for a weekend. If he had a few security cameras hooked up he might have been able to catch the thieves red-handed.

This busy holiday season you have better things to do than worry if your house is still standing while you’re on vacation. Did you know that you can use No-IP to provide access to your security cameras over the web when you’re away from home?

It’s quite simple really. Using a No-IP domain name, some readily available cameras, and a PC-based (or standalone) Digital Video Recorder (DVR), you can access the cameras from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. To find out more on how you can use No-IP, have a look at this article from the Guides and Tips section of our website.

Registration Prices Lowered

Some exciting news for new and existing domain registration customers. Registration prices have just been slashed!

Now is the perfect time to transfer or register your very own domain name.

No-IP Adds Private Registration To Its Service Lineup

NO-IP ADDS PRIVATE REGISTRATION TO ITS SERVICE LINEUP

No-IP™ is proud to announce the official release of private registration. The service can be added to domain purchases, transfers or domains that currently reside with No-IP.com.

Private registration allows a user to mask their contact information that is displayed in the public WHOIS database. This value added service protects you from spammers, telemarketers, identity thieves, stalkers and others who “mine” the public WHOIS database.

“Private registration is an important service for clients requiring privacy in their online endeavors,” said Dan Durrer, Chief Technology officer. “It is also important to any person concerned with having elements of their identity available in a public database.”

Adding private registration to your domain is simple. If purchasing a new domain or transferring an existing domain select the “enable private registration” option at checkout. To add it to a domain that is already with No-IP you can do so through the domain registration manager.

About No-IP™
No-IP™, a subsidiary of Vitalwerks Internet Solutions, LLC, is a leading dynamic DNS and online services provider dedicated to helping companies and home users manage their Internet presence. No-IP™ offers a wide selection of online services, including domain registration, email solutions, server monitoring, and managed DNS to over three million users worldwide.

Private Registration is Now Available

No-IP.com is proud to announce support for Private Registration for domain registration.

For those of you that are not familiar with this, private registration allows you to retain your privacy after purchasing a domain. Instead of having your information and contact email address published to the WHOIS database, an alternate set of information will be used. When someone looks up your domain in the WHOIS database they will see the private registration contact information, not yours. The private registration provider will then act as an in between or third party to keep people from directly contacting you or seeing your information. This is most useful to keep your contact information away from spammers, scammers, stalkers or any other un-wanted person. To find out more about No-IP.com’s private registration take a look over here.
