As a fully accredited ICANN domain registrar, No-IP is required to comply with the ICANN Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA). Periodically, ICANN refreshes the RAA and all registrars are required to comply to continue to sell and manage domain names. A change to the new RAA requires us to verify the domain registrant contact information.
Email address verification is required when:
- A new domain is registered or transferred with unverified contact information.
- A domain contact is edited with unverified contact information.
- An account email is edited that is also used as a domain contact.
- We are notified or have reason to believe that contact information is invalid.
How to verify registrant contact information
If you received an ICANN domain contact verification email or if you have a contact verification banner displayed when you log into your No-IP account, you must click the confirmation link sent to the Registrant email address or contact us by phone to verify your email address is active and accurate.
- Login to your No-IP account
- Click the domain contact verification banner or navigate to the domain contacts page
- Click the Resend Verification Email link
- Open the ICANN domain contact verification email sent to the Registrant email address and click on the verification link
If you do not receive a verification email, you should:
- Check your email spam and junk folders or add noreply@noip.com to your safe sender list
- Update your Registrant email address
- Contact No-IP at +1 775-853-1883 or open a support ticket
Domain Verification Timeline
The domain contact verification process starts when an unverified domain contact is added via domain registration, edited in the domain contacts, or when No-IP has reason to believe the domain contact is invalid (such as an email bounce for the domain email address). Immediately, an initial email will be sent to the Registrant email address that contains a verification link. If that verification link has not been clicked, No-IP will send warning emails to the registrant on days 5, 10, 12 and 14. Additionally, warning emails will be sent on the same days to the account holder email address if the account email address is different than the domain contact email address. If the domain contact remains unverified after 15 days, the associated domains will be suspended and removed from DNS.
