Fritz!Box DDNS Settings

Last updated: November 19, 2025

What is DDNS on a FRITZ!Box Router?

DDNS on your FRITZ!Box router means you link a static hostname (via No‑IP) with your changing public IP address so your home network remains reachable remotely without a static IP. The router sends the IP updates automatically, eliminating the need for a separate update client on a computer.

Quick Setup Instructions

  • Log into your FRITZ!Box interface and go to Internet → Permit Access → DynDNS.
  • Select “User‑defined” as the DDNS provider (if No‑IP isn’t listed) and input the update URL https://dynupdate.no‑ip.com/nic/update?hostname=<domain>&myip=<ipaddr> as instructed.
  • Enter your No‑IP DDNS Key credentials: username/email & password and enable the Use DynDNS option.
  • Set the domain/hostname (e.g., yourname.ddnskey.com) and the server address dynupdate.no‑ip.com (if prompted).
  • Save or apply the settings; the FRITZ!Box will then update No‑IP with your current public IP automatically whenever it changes.

There are different Fritz!Box devices with different ways to configure DDNS. Typically, you’ll just need to enter this information:

DDNS Provider: No-IP
Username: Your DDNS Key Username / Email
Password: Your DDNS Key Password
Hostname/Domain: all.ddnskey.com
Server/Server Address: dynupdate.no-ip.com
Not every device will ask you for a server or server address. The service will still work without issue, if the device does not ask for it.

DDNS Key usernames and passwords are created individually for each hostname or group of hostnames. They are generated from the Personal Hostnames page in your account.

However, some firmwares will require an update URL using our API in order to set up DDNS. Here’s that URL:

https://dynupdate.no-ip.com/nic/update?hostname=<domain>&myip=<ipaddr>,<ip6addr>

You’ll put in that URL exactly as is shown above, the Fritz!Box device should add the No-IP account information you entered in the other fields into those placeholders.

In case your Fritzbox configuration is different or you need more in depth information, you can always check their knowledge base directly.
