In order to protect the information and privacy of our users, No-IP has introduced a new account verification requirement.
How It Works
Prior to login, a 6 digit code is delivered to the email address registered on the No-IP account. This extra layer of security is designed to verify account ownership and protect your personal information from unauthorized parties and malicious actors.
If our system does not recognize your device, you will receive a prompt to “Verify Your Email”. You must the retrieve and provide the code that was sent to your mailbox within 10 minutes in order to gain access the account.
The email will be from No-IP Notices.
Make sure to check your Spam or Junk folder.
If you don’t see it immediately please wait a few minutes and check your email again. You can also try resending the code.
If you continue not having success receiving the email code, please contact support.
Email Verification Frequency
It is important for us that this doesn’t become a daily annoyance, so we have systems in place that recognize your device and allow you to bypass the email verification requirement. We have also included a manual option to trust the device you are currently using for a 30 day period.
If you login from a different device, network, or browser, you will be required to verify again.
Deactivating Email Verification
There is only one way to completely disable email verification, by activating Two-Factor Authentication. Our Two-Factor Authentication is configured with a 3rd party application like Duo or Authy. Setup can be initiated in your account from the Security page.
Lost Email Access
If you have lost access to the email address you signed up with, please contact support.
- If you are using our DUC to update all of your hostnames, you can change your email address without worrying about breaking any connections.
- If you configured DDNS using your username or DDNS Key credentials then you can freely change your email address.
DDNS Keys are a set of credentials that you can configure for a specific hostname or batch of hostnames that are separate from the Username/Password combination that you use to login.
