Ubiquiti Unifi DDNS Setup

Last updated: November 19, 2025

What is the DDNS option on Unifi Devices?

Configuring DDNS on your Unifi device connects a static hostname (via No‑IP) to your changing public IP, allowing remote access without a static IP. When set correctly, your device updates the No‑IP service automatically so you can reliably reach your network from anywhere.

Article Summary

  • In your UniFi Network application, navigate to Settings → Internet → select your WAN interface.
  • Click Create New Dynamic DNS, choose service “noip”, enter your hostname (e.g., yourname.ddnskey.com), your No‑IP DDNS Key username and password.
  • Leave the “Server” field blank.
  • Save/apply the changes and verify your hostname resolves to your public IP.

This guide will help you configure Dynamic DNS within the Unifi OS ecosystem. This guide uses a Cloud Gateway Ultra, but the instructions should be the same or very close for most Unifi devices.

Leave the Server field blank. It will not work if you enter anything here.

Click Create, and you are done.

Next Steps

If you are setting up a remote connection, and you have not done so yet, the next step is port forwarding to the device you want to connect to.
